Respite care

Supporting you with temporary care while your loved ones take a well-deserved break to rest and recharge

About respite care

Respite care provides you with caregivers on an ad hoc or ongoing basis while your loved ones take a well-deserved break to rest, attend to personal matters, or go on holiday.

Our experienced caregivers provide person-centred care, to help maintain your routines and provide companionship while your loved one is away. In-home respite care can be scheduled regularly, for example once per week, planned in advance for an ad-hoc event, or arranged on short notice if necessary.

Whether you need a few hours, days, or weeks of support, our person-centred approach ensures continuity of care and peace of mind for both you and your loved ones.

How respite care works

Our caregivers start by learning and understanding your care needs and daily routines to ensure a smooth transition.

They will maintain these routines alongside a high level of care while your loved ones take a well-deserved break. Respite care can be on an ongoing schedule or on an as-needed basis.

Why choose home care?

Why staying at home where you feel comfortable, familiar, and empowered to live independently is the best option for people who need additional care.

What is home respite care?

In-home respite care provides temporary support for your main carers, maintaining a high quality of care and allowing them to take a break.

How much does respite care cost per day?

The cost of respite care varies depending on the level of care you need, and how long you need it for. Contact our team today to discuss your individual needs.

How many days of respite care are you allowed?

If your respite care is privately funded, you can have as much respite care as your budget allows. Under government-subsidised programmes, you may be eligible for up to 63 days of subsidised respite care per year. You can contact our team for more information.

How do I get started with respite care?

Get started with respite care by contacting our team to discuss your needs. We’ll work with you to understand your care needs and create a respite care plan that works for you.

What is the difference between in home respite care vs residential respite care?

Residential respite care is temporary care provided in a residential aged care facility, while in-home respite care allows your loved one to remain in their familiar home environment while receiving professional care support.
