Light up lives in your locality – Become a Star in your Community!

Over the past 20 years, Dovida has created tens of thousands of new Caregiver jobs for people who have joined us in our mission to support, uplift and empower our clients in every city, town and village in Ireland.
Dovida provides a wide range of home care and support services to growing numbers of people across the country. A career in care with Dovida is an opportunity to achieve long-term personal and professional development in one of the most rewarding type of jobs there is – helping people who need extra support to live happy, safe and independent lives at home.
The good news is, you don’t have to look too far to get involved. We have local offices in 25 places around the country, and our clients can live in the biggest city, or the smallest village. As a Dovida Caregiver, you’ll help your client remain living close to family and friends, in the places they made their lives and created memories.
That’s why we say that the people who work for us are Stars in their Community.
Community-based Caregiver jobs
Few other sectors can provide such community-based, localised work opportunities. This is why a Caregiver job at Dovida suits many people so well. We do have full-time work available for those who want it. But many of our Caregivers prefer to work flexible, part-time shifts close to their own homes: they can put in some hours while the kids are at school, or whenever they have the time and availability to do so.
Your local scheduling team will work closely with you to ensure you’re working as many hours as you’d like to work, and if you do need to travel between clients, we pay a mileage allowance to help cover the costs.
Caregiving work can have its challenges, but our advanced training programmes provide you with the skills and knowledge to handle any situation you might encounter. This is delivered free of charge through our in-house Dovida Academy, and online and face-to-face sessions are available.
We also provide specialist training programmes in fields of care such as dementia care, spinal cord injury care, autism support and more, so there are clear career progression opportunities for those who develop a grá for the job.

Join us, and grow with us
Caregivers who would like to progress to a full-time, office-based job have the opportunity to move into Caregiver Lead and Care Management roles, or to branch out into other fields such as HR, Scheduling, Administration and more.
Many of our 400+ people working in local offices began their career with us in caregiving. Some of our Caregivers started off with an office job, and then joined the caregiving team, having seen the difference they make to people’s lives every day.
Dovida is known in the home care sector as a trusted provider of excellent home care services, and this reputation is underpinned by the people who work with our clients. If you decide to join our team, we’ll match you with a client you’ll get on with, as the relationships you’ll form with the people you help make the best-possible outcomes for everyone.
We’ll make sure that you have the right training, knowledge and support to succeed with us. You’ll have to satisfy some basic requirements, such as Garda-vetting, patient moving and handling, and care of the elderly training before you can work with a client, but our skilled recruitment and training teams will help you through this process.
For your first shifts, our ‘buddy programme’ introduces you to you clients with the support of an experienced Caregiver. And you’ll always have the backing and support of our emergency team, available 24 hours a day, if you happen to need it.
