Call for Abstracts – Our Life, Our Way! 

Dovida is currently seeking abstract submissions for Ireland’s first Innovation in Home Support Conference 2025, which takes place in Dublin City Centre on November 6. 

The inaugural conference will focus on reimagining home support for everyone who wants to remain living their lives in their own homes and communities – including those with disabilities, mental health needs, neurological conditions, and complex care needs. 

“This landmark event will bring together the innovators, the disruptors and the trailblazers from across practice, policy, research and lived experience to explore what’s possible when we reimagine care at home,” said Dr Kathy McLoughlin, General Manager of Disability Services at Dovida. 

“We welcome diverse voices to showcase pioneering models, research, technologies, and collaborative approaches that are reshaping how we support people at home and in local communities.”

We are seeking bold, practice-related, academic, and thought-provoking abstracts that challenge conventional thinking and showcase real-world innovation in one of four conference streams.

1: New models, better lives

Share research or practice relevant to personalised, preventative or wraparound approaches to home support.

This could include new models of home support, PA, virtual care, or different ways to engage in care and support planning, risk assessment and management. 

2: Frontline innovation

The use of technology in care – digital tools, AI, assistive tech or remote supports. How is it transforming and supporting the home support workforce?

3: Policy in action

Systems, regulation, budgets… what’s coming next for home support?

4: Equity and inclusion

Models and ideas to reach rural areas, diverse communities, neurodivergent and marginalised groups.

Interested parties are invited to submit an abstract for an oral presentation, interactive workshop, poster, visual showcase or live demo.

This can be a scientific abstract, or they can simply say what they want to present and why.

If you would like to be considered, please send a 300-word abstract, the title of your presentation, your name, role/organisation, contact details, and preferred stream to conference@dovida.ie by September 5, 2025. 

Successful presenters will gain free entry to the conference and have the opportunity to be featured in the event publicity.
