Bring your unique people skills to a job in caregiving with Dovida

At its heart, caregiving is about people. People with shared interests, who enjoy the simple yet vital aspects of life: sharing a cup of tea, having a chat, and feeling a sense of belonging to a community.
Dovida Caregivers often come from professions where people skills are essential. Retail, hospitality, customer service, childcare, and hairdressing, to name but a few, are just some of the professions where individuals develop the empathy, communication, and listening skills that make them exceptional caregivers.
A common thread running throughout is an ability to understand others’ needs and deliver support with warmth and respect, whether that’s helping someone to get up, washed and dressed ready to start their day, preparing a nutritious meal, or offering a supportive reminder when it’s time to take their medication.
Dovida is now seeking dedicated, compassionate people from a wide range of professions and experiences who are interested in exploring a rewarding new career in care.

What will I be doing?
Dovida caregivers provide essential support to people in their own homes. While some of our clients need a caregiver to pop in once a week for some help around the house, others require daily support.
Some clients need temporary help after surgery, or respite care to give their loved ones some rest, while others use Dovida’s services on an ongoing basis.
Whatever the situation, we shape our care around our clients’ needs and proudly empower each person to live their life with connection, confidence, and choice in a way that is meaningful to them.
Community impact
With flexible schedules, paid training, and clear progression pathways, Dovida offers opportunities for those seeking a career change that makes a difference.
“Many of our caregivers joined from careers in retail, hospitality, or customer service,” says Juanita O’Mahony, Talent Acquisition General Manager at Dovida Ireland.
“They wanted work that fits their lifestyle and gives back to the community, and caregiving offers exactly that.
“A lot of people also come to us having had previous experience caring for a family member and have realised this is something they have a passion for,” she adds.
