Who is Ryan?

Ryan has worked with Dovida Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon for almost two years. Over this period, Ryan has proven himself a natural caregiver. He is very empathic as well as sympathetic towards his clients and family members. Ryan was first nominated and proudly won Dovida Caregiver of the Year for Connacht, a recognition of his dedication and compassion. His outstanding commitment led him to also win the National Caregiver of the Year 2025 award.

Tell us a bit about him

Based in Leitrim, Ryan cares deeply for his clients, providing exceptional support every day. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening and finds peace in nature. To unwind, Ryan also loves running and playing tennis. He has attained professional healthcare qualifications and additional courses focused on caring for older adults, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to learning and providing the highest standard of care.

Ryan has a very gentle nature and gets to know the clients very quickly. He has a very unassuming approach to his care and is very passionate about his job. He is selfless and goes about his duties with empathy and compassion for his clients. Ryan has made a hugely positive impact on his local community. His commitment, kindness, and professionalism have improved the lives of many and inspired his colleagues.

The HCCI Awards

The HCCI Awards, taking place this year in September, reward individuals for outstanding efforts and contributions in their roles. This year’s awards take place in Athlone on September 11th. Dovida is shortlisted in six categories. Three of those shortlisted, Michaela Byrne, Ryan Owen and Bridget McGrath, come from Dovida’s Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon office.
