Dovida Sligo Office Launch

Friday April 11th marked a truly special day for Dovida in Connacht and what a celebration it was. From Inishfree House on High Street, Sligo Town, Dovida Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon officially opened the revamped office. Making the most of the early year heat wave, a crowd gathered on Friday afternoon to celebrate this new beginning.

Who was there?

Ocean FM held a live broadcast and shared Dovida’s story with the wider community, while Martin Kenny T.D. officially cut the ribbon and opened the doors with warmth and encouragement. Further thanks to T.D. Frank Feighan and county councillors from Sligo and Leitrim who attended and showed support. The talented students from St Clare’s National School showcased their brand new sponsored GAA football kits. Our employment liaison officers, Mary and Martina who have developed skills and training.

Who spoke at the launch?

Reminding all present of the importance of compassionate care, Kathleen Kennedy from Parkinson’s Ireland gave a powerful and insightful presentation on Parkinson’s Disease.

What was the highlight?

A man whose dedication and kindness truly reflect the heart of Dovida, Ryan Owen was named Caregiver of the Year for Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon.
