Meet Ivy Fu, Our Ballsbridge Caregiver of the Year
This year, every Dovida office across the country was asked to nominate a Caregiver of the Year. Dovida Ballsbridge covers the busy urban centres of Dublin 2, 4, 6, 8.

Can you tell us about yourself?
My name in Mandrain is Yuwei Fu but everyone calls me Ivy at work. I came to Dublin to study in college and start this job after graduation. I grew up in north-eastern part of China, in a city near seaside. So kinda like here in Dublin and I am used to it.
When did you become a Caregiver?
I started this job after finishing college in Dublin. I am close to my grandparents, and I find I love spending time with elderly people. So, I decide to try this job and here I am. And I enjoy working as a caregiver now.

What does being a Caregiver mean to you?
It gives me chance to know more about local Irish culture and local people. I love meeting different clients and enjoy helping them when they need a hand. I feel I am not just working for them, but developing relationships through it, I learn from their experience and advice as well. So, it does not only mean me offering help, but I receive their kindness at the same time.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a home bird, so I like indoor activities. I enjoy reading, watching films on my laptop and writing diaries. Lately I have been cooking a lot to recharge myself. I am keen to search for different recipes from friends and on YouTube and try to make it for myself. Of course, I make a lot of mess but most of the time it is great fun.
