Meet Michaela Byrne, Dovida Sligo’s Scheduling Lead who’s shortlised in the he Scheduler of the Year category at the 2025 Home and Community Care Ireland (HCCI) Home Care Awards.

Who is Michaela?

Michaela Byrne joined Dovida Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon in June 2022. She has a degree in social care and previously worked in a residential centre caring for children and young people using trauma-informed practice. She has a vast amount of life and work experience and has earned three All-Ireland awards for an environmental project and has been interviewed on radio to advocate for mental health care. Recently, she was promoted to scheduling team lead.

Tell us a bit about Michaela

Michaela manages the daily scheduling activities for three counties from the central hub in Sligo Town, taking it all in her stride. She has a can do attitude, looks to excel in everything she does and goes the extra mile for her clients. The Sligo office regularly receives messages praising Michaela for what a hard-working, caring, compassionate and helpful person she is.

The HCCI Awards

The HCCI Awards, taking place this year in September, reward individuals for outstanding efforts and contributions in their roles. This year’s awards take place in Athlone on September 11th. Dovida is shortlisted in six categories.
